Implementing Project-Based Learning in Interaction Design Course Teaching

Lele Yin

Abstract

As a dual-natured core design discipline integrating theory and practice, Interaction Design suffers from disconnect between theory
and practice and students' innovation deficits and operational competency gaps in traditional classroom teaching, failing to meet contemporary industry requirements. Grounding in constructivist learning theory, project-based learning restructures the instructional process through
authentic project frameworks, fundamentally centering learner agency in pedagogical design. The study systematically reviews the main concepts and teaching value of the project-based learning, and analyzes current status and existing problems of the project-based learning in the
Interaction Design course. It summarizes the optimization pathways and aims to provide reference for the teaching reform in the Interaction
Design course and the quality improvement of application-oriented design talents.
