Jian He

Abstract

With the deepening development of higher education reform, career guidance and planning courses for college students have become a crucial pathway to enhance their employability competitiveness, drawing significant attention to their teaching quality and effectiveness. Based on the outcome-based education (OBE) framework, this study systematically analyzes the current state and challenges of career
planning course instruction at local universities. Key issues include conceptual misalignments, insufficient qualified faculty, inadequate curriculum structures, monotonous teaching methods, inadequate career planning practices among students, weak planning awareness, and ambiguous self-positioning. To address these issues, the study proposes shifting educational paradigms, building a specialized teaching workforce,
optimizing course content, and strengthening students' planning awareness. Through comprehensive collaborative reforms across multiple
dimensions, the aim is to significantly improve the overall quality of career planning and employment guidance services.
