An Exploration of the Effects of Bidirectional Cultural Introduction on High School Students' Intercultural Communication Competence
Abstract
goal of modern foreign language teaching. Bidirectional cultural introduction, which integrates native culture and target language culture,
has attracted wide attention in recent years. Based on the third space theory and intercultural education theory, this paper reviews previous
studies on cultural introduction and intercultural communicative competence at home and abroad. It analyzes the concepts, contents, teaching
principles and practical approaches of bidirectional cultural introduction, and summarizes the constituent elements and mainstream cultivation frameworks of intercultural communicative competence. The literature review indicates that current relevant studies are mostly carried
out in university contexts, and there is a lack of in-depth research on senior high school English teaching. This study argues that bidirectional
cultural introduction can facilitate equal dialogue between two cultures, foster students' rational cultural cognition and inclusive attitudes, and
exert positive effects on improving senior high school students' intercultural communicative competence.
