Investigation on the Current Situation of Badminton Teaching in Public Physical Education Courses in Colleges and Universities

Qi Wang

Abstract

Badminton, with its low entry barriers, high entertainment value, and prominent fitness benefits, has become a popular elective
course in public physical education classes in universities. It is an important carrier for universities to implement national fitness programs,
enhance the physical fitness of college students, and cultivate a lifelong sports awareness. The survey reveals that the current public badminton courses in universities have a relatively high popularity, but there are widespread problems such as fixed teaching models, insufficient
teacher allocation, scarce venue and equipment resources, a single evaluation system, and disconnection between students' learning and
practice. Based on the survey results and in line with the educational goals of public physical education in universities, targeted improvement
strategies are proposed to optimize and improve the teaching system of public badminton courses, enhance the quality of classroom teaching,
fully exert the educational value of badminton, and provide reference for the reform and improvement of public physical education courses in
universities.
