An Analysis of College English Listening Teaching Status and Countermeasures

Abstract


This paper analyzes the current state of university English listening teaching and the factors influencing it. Based on student feedback from the College English Test (CET) Band 4 and Band 6, it is evident that students generally struggle with listening comprehension. To
meet the growing demand for cross-cultural communication talents, universities should update their teaching materials and methods. Teachers
should adopt flexible teaching strategies, integrate multimedia and online resources, and combine classroom and extracurricular learning to
enhance students listening abilities and foster a new generation of globally competent individuals.
