Effects of Different Drying Treatments on Polysaccharide Content of Dendrobium Officinale

Dongmei He, Xiumei Fu

Abstract

To study the effect of different process treatments (freeze-drying, drying, natural air-drying) on the polysaccharide content of Dendrobium ironpierre and Dendrobium purpureum. The samples were crushed and extracted by ultrasonic extraction method under the following
conditions: 1:25 (g/mL) material-liquid ratio, ultrasonic power of 70W, 4000Hz ultrasonic frequency, extraction temperature of 60? , extraction time of 20-30min, and final concentration of ethanol of 95%. The polysaccharide content of Dendrobium officinale was determined by
ultraviolet spectrophotometer method to explore the effect of different process treatments on the polysaccharide content of Dendrobium officinale. The study showed that the content of Dendrobium polysaccharide was lyophilized?drying?natural air-drying. This study provides a
reference for the optimization of the extraction process conditions of Dendrobium polysaccharide, and also provides a theoretical basis for the
further development and utilization of Dendrobium.
