The Application of Group Learning Combined PBL with IVF Training Course Teaching Mode in the Training of Embryologist Trainees

Senlin Shi*, Wei Dai

Abstract

Objective: To explore the effect of group learning+PBL with IVF training course teaching mode in the training of embryologist
trainees. Methods: 80 trainees who underwent further training in the embryo laboratory of the Reproductive Medicine Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from 2023 to 2024 were selected. They were divided into two groups according to different teaching
methods. The research group received training through a combination of grouping and PBL with IVF training courses, while the control group
received traditional training methods. Teaching effectiveness evaluation, theoretical and operational testing were compared between the two
groups. Results: The scores of teaching effectiveness, theoretical and operational testing were significantly higher in the research group than
in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Grouping based on the characteristics of trainees and combining PBL with IVF training courses
teaching mode can help improve the theoretical and practical abilities of embryologist trainees.
