Abstract


The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office has announced that British nautical charts will be phased out of the market by 2026 [1],
signifying the end of the era of paper charts and posing profound implications for navigation education. This paper conducts a comprehensive
analysis of the expected impacts on the content, methods, and practical teaching aspects of navigation education following the withdrawal of
nautical charts from the market and proposes corresponding educational reform recommendations.
