Yongtao Yin, Hong o

Abstract

Educational competence constitutes a critical foundation for college students' autonomous learning, sustainable development, and
social adaptation. Its formation and development depend not only on individual effort but are also profoundly influenced by social environmental factors. As an important external resource obtained by college students in their learning and growth processes, social supportmanifested through emotional, informational, and instrumental supportexerts a substantial impact on the development of educational competence. Grounded in the context of Chinese higher education, this study analyzes the internal mechanisms through which social support affects
college students' educational competence, identifies the major challenges constraining the effective functioning of social support in practice,
and proposes optimization pathways from the perspectives of family support, school support, and peer support. The study aims to provide
theoretical foundations and practical insights for improving the quality of talent cultivation in higher education institutions.
