Exploration of the Path of the Ability Cultivation of the Students in the Literature Retrieval Course in the University Library

Yi Dai

Abstract

In the context of connotative development in higher education and the advancement of new humanities and new engineering disciplines, literature retrieval courses must transcend traditional limitations of tool skill instruction and undergo systematic restructuring centered on cultivating students' higher-order academic competencies. Current teaching practices face challenges including misaligned cognitive
structures, disconnection from disciplinary practices, superficial technological integration, closed teaching systems, and monolithic evaluation
methods. To address these issues, it is crucial to explore a comprehensive training pathway guided by cognitive reconstruction, driven by
situational integration, powered by technological embedding, and supported by collaborative innovation. This approach guides students from
passive information retrieval to active exploration, elevates skill drills to cognitive training, and achieves deep integration of information acquisition, critical thinking, and disciplinary innovation capabilities, thereby laying the foundation for information literacy in cultivating toptier innovative talents.
