Obstacles and Coping Strategies for the Elderly to Use Smart Medical Services

Jiarui Sheng, Yueting Qi, Boyuan Cheng*

Abstract

Against the backdrop of the deep integration of information technology and healthcare practice, the field of smart healthcare has
achieved remarkable innovation and change. However, the elderly population has encountered significant challenges in adopting smart healthcare services, primarily due to low acceptance of digital technology, an insufficient supply of age-appropriate products, and weak social support systems. This study aims to analyse these barriers in depth and propose targeted strategies to address them, with the objective of facilitating a more seamless integration of the elderly population into the smart healthcare system.
