Chinas Dilemma and Innovative Actions in Out-of-Place Medical Treatment: A Practice Based on Urban Agglomerations in China

Haitao Hu, Mengjia Tian

Abstract

The issue of seeking medical treatment away from ones place of registration has always attracted widespread attention in the academic community. As a new growth pole for the high-quality and efficient development of Chinas economy, urban agglomerations face many
obstacles in breaking through spatial policy barriers for out-of-place medical treatment, but they have also introduced a series of innovative
measures, including mechanisms for information interconnection and sharing, medical insurance policy reforms, and the integration of medical resources across regions, among other practices and explorations. Analyzing the dilemmas and measures of residents in the context of
urban agglomerations is conducive to looking forward to the reform trends of collaborative medical service development, and it also provides
policy recommendations and directions for improvement to facilitate out-of-place medical treatment and improve the quality of medical services.
