Effect Observation of Acupuncture and Psychotherapy in Early Rehabilitation of Post-stroke Depression

Abstract

Objective: To investigate the therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with psychological counseling in the early rehabilitation
treatment of post-stroke depression patients. Methods: A total of 86 post-stroke depression patients admitted to our hospital from January
2024 to June 2025 were selected and randomly divided into two groups (43 cases per group) using a random number table. The control group
received conventional rehabilitation treatment, while the observation group was additionally given acupuncture combined with psychological
counseling. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results: The HAMD scores and ADL scores of the observation group
after intervention were superior to those of the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: In the early rehabilitation treatment of post-stroke depression patients, acupuncture combined with psychological counseling can effectively improve depressive symptoms, enhance patients' daily
living abilities, and promote recovery, making it worthy of clinical application.
