Awareness Level of Osteoporosis and its Influencing Factors among Rural Middle-aged and Elderly Residents
Abstract
residents in Hunan Province using general information questionnaires and the Chinese version of the Osteoporosis Knowledge Attitude and
Practice Scale (OPAAT-C). Binary logistic regression analysis identified factors affecting osteoporosis knowledge. Results: A total of 273
valid questionnaires were collected (112 males, 151 females; mean age 61.379.92 years). The average OPAAT-C score was 7.912.81 (item
score 0.360.13). Age, education level, and daily sunlight exposure were significant influencing factors (P<0.05). Conclusion: Most rural
middle-aged and elderly residents have insufficient osteoporosis knowledge. Health education based on the Health Belief Model and targeted
intervention plans are recommended.
