Research on the Organization Mode and Vulnerability of High-Speed Rail Networks in Northeast Chinas Three Provinces

Nana Wang*, Nan Zhang

Abstract

This paper takes the high-speed rail network of the three northeastern provinces as an example to simulate the changes in the networks eigenvalue characteristics under the scenario of single-node failure, thereby assessing the networks vulnerability. When a single node
in the network fails, the impact on the normal operation of the high-speed rail network is relatively small. However, different nodes in the network have significant heterogeneity in their impact on the networks vulnerability. Under the scenario of failure of central city nodes such as
Shenyang, Changchun, and Harbin, the network exhibits higher vulnerability. In contrast, the failure of peripheral city nodes such as Xingtai,
Qitaihe, Dandong, Benxi, and Jixi has a relatively minor impact on the networks stability.
