Fault Analysis and Maintenance of Computer Networks

Haifeng Lu, Manman Li

Abstract

In the digital age, computer networks have become the core infrastructure for social production and life, and their stable operation is
directly related to the efficiency of information transmission and business continuity. Network faults always crop up and are complex, which
often leads to a chain of problems such as service interruption and data loss. Therefore, precise fault analysis and efficient maintenance management have become the core propositions of network operation and maintenance. Based on the theory of network layered architecture and
aligned with actual operation and maintenance scenarios, this paper classifies and analyzes typical fault types, such as hardware, software,
protocols, and human-induced faults, and establishes an integrated fault analysis ecosystem with closed-loop progression through "symptom
triangulation ? root-cause excavation ? solution deployment ? efficacy validation", and proposes a systematic maintenance strategy from
three dimensions: preventive maintenance, intelligent monitoring, and personnel quality improvement to provide practical reference for enhancing network reliability and reducing the fault rate at the same time.
