Comparative Study on the Structure Design of Encoders with Integrated and Split Types

Zhaojie Zhong

Abstract

As the core component for position and motion measurement, encoder structural design directly impacts performance and applica
tion adaptability. This study compares the structural composition, assembly methods, and mechanical characteristics of integrated and split
type encoders, analyzing their differences in precision, stability, and anti-interference capabilities. The compatibility is evaluated through
industrial automation, robotics, and medical equipment applications. Findings indicate that integrated encoders enhance structural compact
ness and anti-interference performance through integrated design, making them suitable for high-precision and high-stability scenarios. Split
type encoders adopt modular designs that facilitate maintenance and cost control, better suited for partial component replacement in complex
operating conditions.Additionally, a lifecycle perspective evaluates cost and maintenance requirements, proposing optimization strategies for
sealing protection and signal transmission while exploring miniaturization and integration trends. The research provides theoretical founda
tions for encoder selection, promoting precise alignment between structural design and application scenarios.
