Research on the Construction Model of the Data Science and Big Data Technology Program Based on Engineering Education Accreditation in the Context of Emerging Engineering Education

Abstract

With the deepening advancement of engineering education program accreditation in China, core educational philosophies—such as
Outcome-Based Education (OBE), student-centeredness, and continuous improvement—have become fundamental guiding principles for the
development of emerging engineering disciplines. Guided by the standards of engineering education accreditation, this paper systematically
explores a construction pathway for the Data Science and Big Data Technology (DSBDT) undergraduate program.We propose and implement
a four-dimensional "CPCC" (Cultivation–Practice–Competition–Career) training model, which establishes an integrated talent development
mechanism encompassing cultivation, practice, competition, and career progression. This model effectively maps course-level learning out
comes to program-level graduate attributes and significantly deepens industry–education integration. Empirical evidence demonstrates that the
CPCC model substantially enhances the quality of talent cultivation and offers a replicable paradigm for accreditation-oriented development
of similar emerging engineering programs.
