Landscape Regeneration Design for Old Residential Compounds in Haikou Based on the All-Age Sharing Philosophy

Abstract


Against the backdrop of China's urban transformation from incremental expansion toward stock optimization, the regeneration of
old residential compounds has become an important approach to improving the quality of urban human settlement environment. This paper
takes Haikou City as the research object and explores the design strategies for the landscape regeneration of old residential compounds in
tropical coastal cities under the guidance of the all-age sharing philosophy. By analyzing the problems in the spatial structure, facility configuration and public interaction of the old residential compounds in Haikou, it summarizes the differentiated demands of varying age groups in
residential compound space. Integrating the regional characteristics of Haikou, such as high temperatures, abundant rainfall, strong sunlight
and rich tropical plant resources, it proposes residential compound landscape regeneration pathways based on the all-age sharing philosophy,
including strategies such as the construction of multi-tiered public space, the design of composite activity space, the synergetic optimization
of elderly-friendly and children-friendly facilities, and the creation of tropical ecological landscapes. The research suggests that all-age sharing is not only a manifestation of spatial equity, but also an important mechanism for rejuvenating residential compounds. Its integration with
regional culture and ecological environment is the key to improving the quality of old residential compounds. The research results can provide
reference for the regeneration of old residential compounds in tropical regions.
