Relationship of Resilience to Big-five Personality and Coping among University Students

Abstract


The present study aims to further analyze relationships of resilience to big-five personality and coping among university students and got deeper understanding of this theme. Furthermore, right coping strategies were found to guide peoples behavior under adversity. 193 participants had completed the questionnaires including 14-Item Resilience Scale, The Big Five Inventory(BFI) and The Brief COPE. The study found that all variables except avoidance types of coping were positively correlated with resilience. All factors in Big-five personality had relationship with coping. Furthermore, approach way of coping and extroversion of personality can predicted resilience. Some fi ndings were not conformed with previous research were discussed in the study.
