Research on the Construction and Practice of a Hierarchical Teaching Model for Table Tennis Elective Course in Physical Education at the Junior and Senior High School Divisions of an International School

Abstract

This study focuses on the construction and practice of hierarchical teaching mode of table tennis elective course with the background of physical education teaching in junior and senior high schools in international schools. Firstly, this study makes an in-depth analysis of the current situation of table tennis courses in international schools, and finds that the main problem is the large gap in students basic ability, which leads to teaching difficulties. In view of this situation, we propose and construct a hierarchical teaching model of table tennis elective course based on ability level, which divides students into three levels for directional teaching: primary, intermediate and advanced. Practice shows that this hierarchical teaching mode has greatly improved the teaching efficiency and students satisfaction. For junior students, focus on the training of basic skills and the cultivation of sports habits; For intermediate students, the focus is on the correction of technical movements and tactical understanding; For advanced students, it emphasizes the optimization of technical movements and competition strategies. This research results show that the hierarchical teaching model has a positive impact on improving teaching quality, stimulating students interest and increasing students participation, that means this research results can not only improve the teaching effect of table tennis in international schools, but also have enlightenment and reference significance for other types of physical education class or physical education class in other schools.
