Research on the Design of Cultural and Creative Products Based on the Inheritance of Tujia Brocade Culture

Abstract


Tujia brocade, as a quintessential traditional craft of Chinas southwestern ethnic groups, not only embodies profound historical and cultural heritage alongside ethnic memory but also reffects distinctive aesthetic concepts and artisanal ingenuity. With the ffourishing development of the cultural and creative industries, Tujia brocadeas a unique manual craft and cultural vessel of the Tujia peoplehas garnered increasing attention for its preservation and innovative design. This paper examines contemporary strategies and practical pathways for designing cultural and creative products, focusing on the inheritance of Tujia brocade culture. First, it analyses the cultural connotations, value, artistic characteristics, and current state of transmission of Tujia brocade. Building upon this foundation, it proposes innovative design strategies including cultural gene extraction, technological integration, collaborative innovation, and brand construction. This aims to effectively revitalise the cultural vitality of Tujia brocade, facilitating its transformation from cultural heritage into cultural resources. It offers new perspectives for the sustainable development of traditional ethnic handicrafts, thereby advancing the creative transformation and innovative development of ethnic culture.
