The Leadership of the Communist Party of China in Advancing Chinese-Style Modernization: Theoretical Context, Governance Advantages, and Practical Dimensions

Abstract


The leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chinese-style modernization constitute an internally unified and organic whole. From a historical perspective, CPC leadership represents an inevitable outcome of the evolution of modern Chinese history, through which mature governing capacity for leading modernization has been developed in long-term practice. The advantages of CPC leadership are embodied in two dimensions: organizational mobilization and resource coordination, and value integration and consensus cohesion. Collectively, these advantages shape the governance efficacy and developmental momentum of Chinese-style modernization. Advancing Chinese-style modernization requires the continuous conversion of CPC leadership advantages into sustained developmental momentum through practical pathways including deepened institutional empowerment, innovation-driven guidance, and the promotion of common prosperity. Upholding and strengthening the overall leadership of the Party serves as both the fundamental guarantee for Chinese-style modernization and the core driving force for its sustained development.
