Research on the Green Upgrade and Development of the Reffning and Chemical Industry Under the Dual Carbon Goals

Abstract


The dual-carbon targets are pushing the energy sector towards a low carbon and green transition. The refining and chemical industry, as a pillar branch of energy and chemical industry, has the characteristics of high energy consumption, high emission, and double pressure of energy saving, emission reduction and restructuring. It is not only necessary to promote its green upgrade, but also the necessary choice of low carbon energy development. In this paper, we focus on the dual carbon objectives, refining and chemical industries, green upgrading and the key factors for low carbon development. The paper analyses the present situation of the industry and its constraints in the dual carbon environment, outlines the guidelines for green upgrading, and explores the way forward by means of technology innovation, structure optimization and management systems, and provides theoretical insights for low carbon transformation and sustainable development in refining and chemical industries.
