Bibliometric Analysis and Visualisation of Domestic and International Research on Carbon Emissions in Buildings

Abstract

Research into carbon emissions within the construction industry forms a crucial foundation for sectoral carbon reduction efforts. Against the backdrop of the dual carbon strategy, the fragmented nature of research topics and the unclear evolutionary pathways in this field necessitate systematic knowledge mining. To address this, this study employs a bibliometric approach to propose an integrated â€˜keyword characteristics-theme-evolutionâ€™framework for analysing the construction sectorâ€™s carbon emissions domain and examining its evolutionary trends. It then reviews carbon reduction efforts in construction across three distinct research branches. Visualised through a knowledge map, this framework clearly delineates the knowledge structure and evolutionary pathways within the construction carbon emissions field, providing data support for subsequent researchers to refine carbon reduction strategies in the construction sector.
