The new era has endowed ideological and political education in universities with new missions and requirements. Education on ideals and beliefs, as the core content of ideological and political education, is a crucial link in cultivating new generations capable of shouldering the great responsibility of national rejuvenation. Excellent traditional Chinese culture, a spiritual treasure accumulated over thousands of
years of development, contains profound humanistic sentiments, lofty values, and a distinct national spirit, providing vivid materials and spiritual nourishment for strengthening the education on ideals and beliefs of university students. This article, based on the realities of university
education in the new era, analyzes the inherent coupling between excellent traditional Chinese culture and the education on ideals and beliefs
of university students. Combining this with existing problems in current educational practice, it explores effective paths to strengthen the
education on ideals and beliefs of university students using excellent traditional Chinese culture, aiming to provide theoretical reference and
