Research on Contemporary Aesthetics Education: A Comparative Study of Zhang Daqian's Splash Painting and Jackson Pollock's Drip Painting
Abstract
contemporary background of art education, however, there are few systematic researches on the art creation and teaching with the perspective
of comparison on Chinese and Western art. The splash painting of Zhang Daqian and drip painting of Pollock belong to different system and
aesthetic tradition of Chinese and Western countries, however, both of them formulate picture with the abstract forms of colors. The achievements of this research can be the reference for art creation and education in contemporary society. Methods: This research utilizes the method
of paralleling comparison to compare and analyze the creation of splash paintings of Zhang Daqian and drip paintings of Pollock created during their respective mature periods. Results: The results of research show that, the splash painting of Zhang Daqian is the abstract painting
with the freehand brushwork spirit of traditional Chinese painting, and the drip painting of Pollock belongs to the pictures with pure abstract
color or colorful symbols. The abstract colors of the splash paintings of Zhang Daqian hasn't been out of the scope of object shaping and artistic conception creation of traditional Chinese painting with the features of "between similarity and dissimilarity". Therefore, if the picture
expresses abstractly with total abstract symbols and color blocks, and totally discards the moulding of the figure of concrete objects, it will
lose the artistic spirit of traditional Chinese painting. Conclusion: This research has proved that it is impossible for the splash painting artists
to lead the abstract transformation of traditional Chinese painting in the Pollock's way of pure abstract presentation. The achievements of this
research has provided reference for the art creation and education in comtemporary society.
