Protection and Revitalization Design of Cultural Landscapes in Hainan's Traditional Li Settlements

Yingying Huang, Baorui Ye

Abstract

Hainan's traditional Li settlements are important carriers of Hainan's regional culture, embodying rich ethnic history, ecological wisdom and cultural landscape value. Against the backdrop of rural revitalization and cultural heritage protection, traditional settlements are facing challenges such as the disappearance of architectural style, discontinuity in cultural transmission, and monolithic industrial development
models. Based on the theory of cultural landscapes, this paper analyzes the composition characteristics and existing problems of the traditional
Li settlement cultural landscapes in Hainan. It proposes revitalization design strategies from holistic protection, space optimization, cultural
transmission, industry convergence, and digital empowerment in order to achieve the unification and harmonization of traditional settlement
cultural heritage protection and sustainable development, and provide reference for rural construction and cultural landscape regeneration in
ethnic areas of Hainan.
