Revelations from Typhoon Magi: Developing Characteristic Industry Hubs to Kickstart Rural Revitalization in Hainan
Abstract
challenges in rural areas, such as aging populations, hollowed out villages, and inadequate infrastructure and public services. The idea of
developing characteristic industry hubs is proposed, highlighting their unique benefits, such as industry clustering, employment generation,
land optimization, and shared public services. The discussion also acknowledges the challenges, including difficulties in industrial planning,
financial and talent shortages, and issues related to coordinating interests. Drawing lessons from successful domestic examples, this article
aims to offer valuable insights for the rural revitalization of Wenchang and Hainan as a whole.
