Compressed Sensing and its Application in the Integrated Sensing and Communications

Abstract


Compressed sensing (CS) is a new signal processing mode for sparse signal compression and reconstruction. The integrated
sensing and communications (ISAC) is the key technology of sixth-generation (6G) in the future. CS has a lot of potential application
value and advantages in the direction of the ISAC, which will inject vitality into realizing more efficient and safer information processing. This paper expounds the basic concepts and typical steps of CS from the aspects of the ISAC background, basic theory and practical
application, and introduces the application of CS technology in spectrum sensing and utilization, channel state information acquisition,
positioning and navigation, data transmission and reception, etc. The effectiveness of CS in the direction of the ISAC is deeply discussed,
which provides solid support for the continuous expansion of related application fields and the continuous innovation and upgrade of communication technology.
