Exploring Listening Teaching for English Majors from the Perspective of Multimodal Discourse

Abstract


Listening is an important part of the teaching of English majors in colleges and universities, and it is an essential ability quality
for English talents. Multimodal discourse theory provides new ideas for college English major listening teaching. Based on this, the article
discusses the listening teaching strategy of college English majors under the perspective of multimodal discourse, analyzes the specific application of the multimodal discourse theory from the pre-course preparation, in-class listening practice and post-course sessions, aims to
improve students listening comprehension ability, and provides reference opinions for the optimization of college English majors listening teaching.
