Xinyue Wang

Abstract

With the advent of the big data era, data-driven storytelling has become an essential channel for many media platforms. Against the
backdrop of digital media convergence, the ways in which audiences obtain and consume information are becoming increasingly diverse. This
paper examines representative works from the Sigma Awards for Data Journalism, analyzing key elements through content analysis and case
study methods. It explores the application and development of data journalism from four aspects: narrative style, narrative dimensions, topic
selection, and data sources. Additionally, it investigates the three forms of visual narrative in data journalism and the intersection and innovation between data journalism practice and technology.
