Construction of Ecological Security Pattern in Dengkou County
Abstract
sustainable development. Taking Dengkou County, Inner Mongolia as an example, this study introduced the SOM model, and identified the
ecological source areas in Dengkou County with soil conservation, habitat quality, windbreak and sand fixation, water conservation, and
food supply as indicators; the MCR model and gravity model were used to extract and sort the ecological corridors in the study area. The
results showed that 38 ecological source areas were identified based on the SOM model, with a total of 534.83 km2. According to the MCR
and gravity models, 32 extremely important corridors were extracted, with a length of 201.19 km; 42 important corridors, with a length of
502.31 km; and 667 generally important corridors, with a total length of 24816.24 km. In summary, the ecological security pattern of two
cores, one belt, and two screens was proposed, which provides a reference for the study of ecological protection and restoration of the
land space in Dengkou County.
