The Construction and Dissemination of People’s Daily Public Discourse in the New Media Era

Abstract

In the new media era, People’s Daily has actively explored the construction and dissemination of public discourse. It consistently
upholds socialist core values, strengthens the authority of public discourse, and adheres to fundamental principles of rationality, fairness, courage, and incisiveness. When facing major news events, it responds swiftly, providing the public with accurate and objective news information
alongside warm, vivid guidance for emotional healing. Meanwhile, People’s Daily has innovatively established a comprehensive five-in-one
multi-dimensional communication network integrating newspapers, websites, mobile apps, WeChat accounts, and digital screens. Through
various approaches, it breaks down cognitive barriers, safeguards public welfare, guides rational problem-solving, and conveys warmth. This
transformation has enabled it to evolve from a traditional, rigorous party media outlet into a vibrant and engaging spokesperson for the people.
