Safety Risk and Control of Rock and Soil and Underground Engineering Tunnel Construction

Hao Jiang

Abstract

Tunnel construction in geotechnical and underground engineering faces numerous safety risks, including rock stability, sudden
water and mud surges, toxic and harmful gases, and blasting vibrations. This article focuses on these risks, delving into their causes, mechanisms, and potential consequences. It proposes a series of targeted risk control measures, including enhancing advance geological forecasting,
improving drainage systems and emergency plans, strictly enforcing ventilation protection and gas monitoring, and scientifically formulating
blasting designs and dynamically monitoring vibrations. These measures aim to provide theoretical guidance and practical references for tunnel construction safety management.
