Application and Development of Geographic Information Science in Intelligent Transportation
Abstract
planning and management. As the foundational discipline for spatial information acquisition, processing, and analysis, Geographic Information Science provides indispensable spatial frameworks and analytical methodologies for smart transportation. Its capabilities in precise
modeling and dynamic representation of geospatial data serve as critical technological support for addressing complex challenges such as
traffic congestion and safety hazards. From digital modeling of transportation networks to intelligent route planning, from real-time traffic
monitoring to optimized layout of transportation facilities, the integration of Geographic Information Science with smart transportation has
permeated every aspect of transportation systems. Exploring the application scenarios and development trends of Geographic Information Science in smart transportation not only enriches interdisciplinary theoretical research but also provides practical guidance for building efficient,
green, and safe modern transportation systems. This advancement drives the evolution of transportation systems toward a more adaptive and
forward-looking intelligent stage.
