Causing and Prevention of Collapse in Rock and Soil and Underground Engineering Construction

Hao Jiang

Abstract

As a critical component of geotechnical and underground engineering, tunnel projects are prone to collapse accidents during construction, which can result in significant casualties and economic losses. This article focuses on a specific tunnel project, analyzing the causes
of these accidents, including design flaws in the support structures, improper construction techniques, and complex geological conditions. It
proposes measures to prevent and mitigate these risks, such as optimizing support schemes, standardizing construction procedures, conducting
thorough geological surveys, and monitoring the construction process. The aim is to provide a reference for similar projects, aiming to minimize the risk of collapse and ensure the smooth progress of tunnel construction.
