Exploring the Sustainability of Medical Finance under the Background of China's Population Aging based on the East Asian Model

Donghao Wang

Abstract

China's ageing population presents an increasingly acute challenge, directly impacting societal resources and stability. East Asian
nations possess relatively mature governance experiences in addressing ageing that offer valuable insights for China's own practices. Against
this backdrop, this study further examines multiple factors influencing the sustainable development of healthcare resources, drawing upon
China's current social resource landscape in an ageing society. On this basis, the paper proposes policy recommendations for building a multilevel, sustainable medical finance system with diversified financing, strategic procurement, and systemic reform as its core, tailored to China's
national conditions. The aim is to provide theoretical references for realizing the Healthy China strategy.
