Research on the Evaluation of General Aviation Electronic Flight Bag Interfaces Based on the SEEV Model

Jianlin Wang*

Abstract

To enable rapid evaluation of general aviation electronic flight bag (general aviation EFB) prototype interfaces, this paper proposes
a task-value-oriented method based on the SEEV model. Using areas of interest (AOIs) as units, it quantifies salience, effort, expectancy, and
value, then derives three matching degrees, an overall AOI matching degree, and an overall interface evaluation index. A case study covering
six general aviation EFB functional categories and three layout schemes shows that the method supports scheme comparison and selection
while identifying mismatch sources in key AOIs, thus providing support for prototype-stage layout optimization.
