Research on the Mechanism of Cross-border E-commerce Promoting the Growth of International Trade under the Belt and Road Initiative

Boqiang Zhang, Jiaqi Yuan

Abstract

Against the backdrop of the Belt and Road Initiative, cross-border e-commerce has become a key driver of international trade
growth. This paper analyzes the core mechanisms through which cross-border e-commerce promotes trade growth, elucidating its underlying
logic from three dimensions: reducing information transaction costs, expanding overseas markets for small and medium-sized enterprises, and
enhancing the efficiency of the entire supply chain. It examines the practical constraints currently faced by cross-border e-commerce, such as
insufficient logistics support, weak customs clearance coordination, and a shortage of talent, and proposes optimization strategiesincluding
improving logistics networks, innovating customs clearance models, and strengthening talent mechanismsin the context of the Belt and
Road Initiative. This study holds both theoretical and practical significance for advancing the development of cross-border e-commerce and
deepening Belt and Road trade cooperation.
