The Construction of a National Community in the Northwest Frontier of the Tang Dynasty and Its Implications

Abstract

The Tang Dynasty is significant in China's development as a unified multi-ethnic state, and its governance in the Northwest Frontier
provided rich historical experience. This study uses the"national community"theory to systematically examine the Tang Dynasty's historical
practices in building a national community in the Northwest Frontier. By analyzing policies across dimensions like political identity shaping
and cultural integration, it explores governance wisdom and historical insights. Considering new-era ethnic work needs, it investigates the
historical experience of the Tang Dynasty's Northwest Frontier national community construction for contemporary ethnic unity and progress.
This research broadens the perspective on Tang Dynasty frontier governance and offers historical references for building the Chinese national
community in the new era.
