Abstract


In the last ten years, China has emerged as a world leader in electric vehicle production and use due to the rapid technological development and government encouragement. The dissertation, analyzing different case studies and market information, helps to develop the
theoretical knowledge of the role of innovation in competitive advantage in the NEV industry and offers practical recommendations to managers and policymakers. The results add to the body of knowledge on how strategic innovation can lead to market leadership and provide useful
insights to companies and policy makers who would like to follow China in the NEV market.
