Application and Mechanism Research of Aromatherapy in Chronic Disease Symptom Management
Abstract
This paper systematically reviews its effects on relieving pain, mood/sleep disorders, cognitive decline and other chronic disease-related
symptoms, exploring mechanisms via olfactory neural pathways and pharmacological actions. Analysis shows that through inhalation, topical
application and other routes, aromatherapy has significant effects in relieving chronic pain, improving anxiety and depression, enhancing sleep
quality, assisting cognitive function, and regulating the cardiovascular. At the same time, this paper points out the methodological limitations
of current research and puts forward prospects for future research directions, aiming to provide theoretical reference for the clinical standardized application and in-depth research of aromatherapy.
