The Relationship between Frailty and Intrinsic Capacity of Elderly Emergency Patients in China: A Cross-sectional Study
Abstract
elderly emergency patients. Methods: Across-sectional, correlational study was performed from 05/06/2025 to 25/06/2025 with 252 elderly
emergency patients in a Hospital using a self-structured questionnaire. Results: The mean score of elderly emergency patients on the FRAIL
scale was 1.32±1.43, 56% of these were considered to be in a state of frailty. We found a significant association between frailty and locomotor,
vitality, cognitive, psychological, visual sensory domain deficits in IC. However, the association between frailty and hearing loss in the sensory domain of IC was not statistically significant. Conclusion: Frailty was significantly correlated with the level of intrinsic abilities such as
motor, vitality, cognitive, psychological, and visual-sensory abilities in elderly emergency patients.
