Research Progress on Tactile Sensory Stimulation in Children with Visual Impairment
Abstract
lost visual information through cerebral cross-modal neuroplasticity. Drawing on domestic and international peer-reviewed publications, this
descriptive review sorts out neural mechanisms underlying tactile processing in visually impaired populations, summarizes how tactile stimulation facilitates cognitive, motor and social-emotional development, categorizes mainstream tactile intervention models, points out prevailing
research deficiencies, and proposes viable directions for subsequent exploration. It intends to deliver rigorous, evidence-based theoretical references for special education and rehabilitation services for children with visual impairment.
