Analysis of the Clinical Value of Combined CT and MRI in Diagnosing Thoracolumbar Spine Injuries

Mengyao Xu

Abstract

Objective: To analyze the value of combined CT and MRI in diagnosing thoracolumbar spine injuries. Methods: A total of 50
patients with suspected thoracolumbar spine injuries from January 2022 to March 2023 were included and divided into a CT scan group, a
CT+MRI scan group, and a clinical surgical pathology group. The diagnostic outcomes were analyzed. Results: The diagnostic accuracy of
the CT+MRI scan group for thoracolumbar spine injuries was significantly higher than that of the CT scan group (p<0.05), but there was no
significant difference compared with the clinical surgical pathology group (p>0.05). The missed diagnosis rate in the CT+MRI scan group was
significantly lower than in the CT scan group (p<0.05). Conclusion: The combined use of MRI and CT for diagnosing thoracolumbar spine
injuries offers higher overall diagnostic value and demonstrates several advantages.
