Xueqing Cao

Abstract

As a precious carrier of traditional Chinese cultural lineage, Yangzhou engraved block printing boasts distinctive historical and artistic value. This paper sorts out its evolutionary trajectory, technical features and cultural connotations, and establishes a systematic inheritance
genealogy for this intangible cultural heritage (ICH) covering inheritor groups, technical knowledge and communication spaces. It explores
the internal correlations among inheritor networks, complete technological workflows and external inheritance environments. Targeted strategies including archival recording, creative design transformation, layered cultural education and multi-party collaborative governance are put
forward. This study aims to promote the overall protection and intergenerational continuity of Yangzhou woodblock printing.
