On the Construction of External Discourse Regarding the Cross-cultural English Translation of Sanxingdui Cultural Terminology from the Perspective of Language Security

Abstract

Sanxingdui's the pulse of ancient Shuâ€”but ever wonder what breaks when we "explain" it globally. It's language security and who
controls the narrative. Take "Zongmu masks"â€”swallowed by Western jargon, or over-domesticated till the sacred leaks out. But semantic
decay spreadsâ€”from objects to rituals to how we define the civilization itself. Chaos doesn't just confuse; it silences native voices. Fix it with
"phonetic pinning" (anchor the sound) plus "semantic padding". Not a wallâ€”a flexible matrix: uniform labels up top, deep context underneath. A blueprint for ideas to travel far without getting hollowed out.
