Shan Gao

Abstract

As the core material carrier of prehistoric civilization in the Yellow River Basin and a treasure of intangible cultural heritage, Yellow River painted pottery carries the aesthetic concepts, craft wisdom and cultural spirit of early Chinese nation, possessing extremely high
historical, artistic and cultural values. Against the backdrop of the national promotion of living inheritance of intangible cultural heritage (ICH)
and the creative transformation and innovative development of traditional culture, the traditional craftsmanship of Yellow River painted pottery faces practical dilemmas including talent inheritance gap, disconnection between craftsmanship and modern life, insufficient innovative
design, and poor market adaptability.
