Analysis of the C-E Translation The Sight of Fathers Back -- Taking Zhang Peijis Translation as An Example

Abstract


The English translation of Chinese literature plays a pivotal role in the dissemination of Chinese culture. The Sight of Fathers Back
is an evocative prose. It reveals the genuine feelings between the father and son. Under the guidance of Nidas functional equivalence theory,
this paper analyzes Zhang Peijis translation of that prose at the lexical, syntactic and stylistic levels, so as to explore the methods of translating Chinese proses.
